CRS Mark for Cash Register

Cash register BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) certification guarantees adherence with Indian safety and quality criteria. Cash registers have to go through required testing at BIS-recognized labs before certification per IS 13252, Part 1: 2010. Using its online portal, manufacturers must send BIS an application, test results, and pertinent paperwork. Once approved, the CRS mark—which denotes conformance to Indian regulatory standards—can be put on the goods. Foreign companies have to name an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR). Usually taking four to five weeks, the certification process is vital for customer confidence in India and legal market access.
