ISI Mark for Electric Toys

In order to market electric toys in India, one must be BIS certified under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). The toys have to abide by IS 15644:2006, Safety of Electric Toys. Testing the product at a BIS-approved lab, then applying using the BIS Manakonline Portal, results in a test report. Manufacturers—including foreign ones—had to have an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) if they base elsewhere from India. The BIS Standard Mark has to be on show on the product following approval. Testing, documentation submittal, and maybe manufacturing inspections comprise the 4-8 week procedure. Selling uncertified toys could cause penalties or legal action. Compliance must be maintained by regular renewal.
