CRS Mark for Adapters for Household

Under IS 16675:2017 Adanners for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances in India must have the BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) certification.  Under control by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), this certification guarantees conformity and safety of products prior to their introduction into markets.  Manufacturers have to apply via the BIS CRS portal, send samples for testing in a BIS-registered lab, and get permission to use the BIS CRS brand.  Foreign companies could call for a manufacturing inspection.  The certification has two years validity and must be renewed often.  Legal sales in India as well as consumer safety depend on BIS compliance.
