The BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) Mark is required for all laptops, notebooks, and tablets sold in India to assure product safety and quality. According to Indian Standard IS 13252 (Part 1): 2010, producers must have their goods evaluated in a BIS-approved lab and apply for registration on the BIS site. After approval, the product must bear the CRS Mark before being marketed. The certification is valid for two years and has to be renewed. Non-compliance might result in penalties or product bans. This assures customer safety and standardization in India's electronics business.
