CRS Mark for USB Type External Solid- State Storage Devices

Under IS 13252, which addresses the safety criteria for IT equipment, USB Type External Solid-State Storage Devices (over 256GB capacity) must have their BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) certification.  This certifying guarantees adherence to Indian safety and quality criteria.  Manufacturers have to register under the CRS system, provide product samples for testing at BIS-approved labs, and furnish required paperwork.  Foreign producers need an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR).  Two years is the validity of BIS certification; renewal options are available.  Legal sales in India depend on this to guarantee customer safety and product dependability.
