ISI Mark for Paper

Following IS 14490:2018, the BIS Certification for Plain Copier Paper guarantees that the paper satisfies performance, quality, and safety criteria.  Manufacturers wanting to sell copier paper in India under the ISI mark system must comply.  Applying via the BIS site, turning in product test reports from BIS-approved labs, and then going through a factory inspection constitute the certification procedure.  BIS grants the license upon compliance thereby enabling the manufacturer to use the ISI mark on their goods.  Standardized GSM, brightness, opacity, and moisture content guaranteed by the certification makes it indispensable for consumer trust and market credibility.
