Utility-Interconnected Photovoltaic Inverters' BIS CRS Mark Certification guarantees performance conformity with Indian safety and standards. It is required following the Bureau of Indian Standards' (BIS) Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). The relevant Indian guidelines are IS 16221 (Part 2: 2015: Safety Requirements) and IS 16169: 2014 (Anti-Islanding Protection). Product testing in a BIS-approved lab, documentation submission, and BIS approval constitute part of the certification procedure. Before sold in India, manufacturers must affix the BIS CRS mark. Foreign producers need an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR). The certification must be renewed for ongoing compliance; it is good for two years.
