EPR E-Waste
E-waste (electronic waste) is growing fast, India
generates nearly 50 million tonnes of e-waste yearly. This
number will increase as more electronic products are used
So to regulate the E-waste in India, The Government of
India, introduced E-Waste Management Rules Which are
managed by the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016. The
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) enforces these
rules. Producers must have an EPR plan, collect e-waste,
and recycle or dispose of it properly.
It is necessary for all the manufacturers, Producer,
Recycler, and Refurbishers to get registered on the EPR
E-Waste Portal and file the annual E-Waste Targets as
stated by CPCB.
