ISI Mark for Furniture
To guarantee quality and safety, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) requires ISI Mark certification for many furniture products as of February 14, 2025. Key Indian Standards comprise IS 17631:2022 for work chairs, IS 17632:2022 for general-purpose chairs and stools, IS 17633:2022 for tables and desks, IS 17634:2022 for storage units, IS 17635:2022 for beds and IS 17736:2022 for bunk beds. To use the ISI mark on these products, manufacturers have to get a BIS license under Scheme I of Schedule II according Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
