There is no Quality Control Order (QCO) for Epoxy Resin, Hardners and Epoxy Resin Compositions for Floor Topping today. This means the ISI mark for IS 9197 is optional. Many makers still get it, because government tenders, large buyers and online marketplaces often ask for it.

Can a foreign manufacturer get the ISI mark?
Yes. Factories outside India apply under the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS). They must also name a representative in India, called an Authorised Indian Representative (AIR). The licence is in the name of the factory. Once the product is mandatory, importers cannot clear the goods at customs without it.
How long does BIS certification take?
