CRS Mark for Television Sets

Television sets sold in India must be certified in BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme), guaranteeing conformity with IS 616:2017 (Safety regulations for audio, video, and related electronic apparatus). Manufacturers have to apply using the BIS CRS site, have their goods tested at a BIS-approved lab, and get clearance. The BIS CRS mark has to be visible on the product once it is certified. The certification is two years valid, needing regular renewal. These guarantees regulatory compliance, quality, and product safety. Foreign producers have to name an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR). Penalties or product restrictions could follow from non-compliance.
