Overview of Egg & Egg Products Testing

Tested by
NABL-accredited partner lab
Regulation
FSSAI & export norms
Typical turnaround
5–7 working days
Sample needed
30 eggs or 500 g product

Eggs are a leading source of Salmonella food poisoning worldwide, and egg powder and liquid egg are tested batch by batch for it before they are sold to bakeries, food manufacturers and export buyers. Residues of antibiotics and anticoccidial drugs used in poultry are the second major check, especially for shipments to the Middle East, Europe and Japan, where India is a significant egg powder supplier.

Composition tests confirm protein, fat and moisture against the product specification, while freshness indicators such as the Haugh unit and air cell size are used by layer farms and graders for table eggs.

Frequently asked questions

Can you test egg powder for export?

Yes. We match the parameter list and methods to the buyer’s specification and the importing country’s rules, usually covering Salmonella, residues, composition and solubility.

Will FSSAI and buyers accept the report?

Tests are done in labs accredited by NABL for the parameters reported, and for regulatory use in FSSAI-notified labs, which is what FSSAI, food safety officers and most buyers expect. For export, we match the lab to the importing country’s or buyer’s requirement.

Who carries out the testing?

Instacertify’s partner laboratories, accredited by NABL to ISO/IEC 17025 for the parameters on your report. We choose the lab, arrange the sample, follow up until the report is issued and explain the results to you.
