Dioxins, furans and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are persistent organic pollutants that build up in fat through the food chain. Fish oil, fishmeal, animal fat, eggs and feed ingredients are the main concern, and the EU sets strict maximum levels for them that apply to Indian exports.
Results are reported as a toxic equivalent (TEQ), which weights each compound by its toxicity. The analysis needs specialist high-resolution mass spectrometry, so it takes longer and is done in fewer labs than routine testing. The same methods apply to incinerator stack emissions, ash and soil.
What we do for you
- Lab and parameter list chosen for your purpose: licence, export, buyer or internal QC
- Sampling guidance, and pickup or on-site sampling where needed
- One contact who follows up with the lab until the report is issued
- Report explained in plain language, with next steps if a result fails
