Overview of Concrete Testing & NDT
- Tested by
- NABL-accredited partner lab
- Regulation
- IS 456, IS 516, IS 10262
- Typical turnaround
- Cubes at 7 & 28 days
- Sample needed
- Cubes, cores or on-site NDT
Concrete quality is accepted on cube compressive strength, tested under IS 516 at 7 and 28 days with acceptance criteria in IS 456. Before work starts, a mix design to IS 10262 using your actual cement and aggregates sets the proportions for the required grade and workability.
For existing buildings, bridges and structures under audit or retrofit, non-destructive tests such as the rebound hammer and ultrasonic pulse velocity (IS 13311) map concrete quality across the structure, and cores cut from the structure give direct strength. Carbonation depth, chloride content and cover to reinforcement show the risk of corrosion. Housing societies use these tests for structural audits.
What we do for you
- Lab and parameter list chosen for your purpose: licence, export, buyer or internal QC
- Sampling guidance, and pickup or on-site sampling where needed
- One contact who follows up with the lab until the report is issued
- Report explained in plain language, with next steps if a result fails
