- Typical turnaround
- 7–10 working days
- Sample needed
- 500 g per product
Coffee is checked for caffeine, moisture, ash and water-soluble extract. Coffee-chicory mixtures must declare the chicory share on the label, and testing confirms the declared percentage. Ochratoxin A, a mould toxin that forms when beans are dried or stored badly, is the main safety parameter for export buyers.
For cocoa products and chocolate, FSSAI defines categories such as milk chocolate and plain chocolate by their minimum cocoa solids, milk solids and cocoa butter, and limits the vegetable fats that can replace cocoa butter. Heavy metals, especially cadmium and lead, are increasingly checked in dark chocolate and cocoa powder.
