- Typical turnaround
- 7–12 working days
- Sample needed
- 3 retail packs per batch
Health supplements and nutraceuticals sold as food fall under FSSAI’s regulations for health supplements, nutraceuticals and foods for special dietary use. They limit the ingredients that can be used, cap vitamin and mineral levels with reference to the recommended dietary allowance, and expect every claim on the label to be backed by evidence.
Testing confirms the quantity of each declared active, whether a vitamin, a mineral, a protein, a probiotic count or a botanical marker such as curcumin or withanolides, and checks heavy metals, pesticides and microbes. Tablets and capsules are also tested for disintegration. Protein powders are screened for amino acid spiking, where cheap amino acids are added to inflate the protein figure.
